Membership requests are currently part of a controlled test. Public account registration is not open. Do not create another account to bypass an access restriction.
When the request form is available
- Sign in with your existing account and open My Communities.
- Under Request membership, choose an organization shown in the list.
- Select the relationship that accurately describes your connection, such as Member, Parent, Alumnus, Staff, or Volunteer.
- Under Explain the relationship, write 10 to 1,000 characters that help the reviewer check your connection. Do not include identity documents, passwords, financial details, or other sensitive records.
- Select Submit for approval once, then check the saved request on My Communities. If the outcome is unclear, reload and check for an existing request before submitting again.
Expected result
A new request should appear as Pending. A separate authorized manager must check it. Repeating a pending request returns the existing request; it does not approve it or replace its explanation or relationship choice. Approval does not automatically give you community-management rights.
During the current walkthrough, the listed demo organization is fictional. Use synthetic test explanations only; no real organizational connection is being represented.
If the form or organization is missing
The pilot may be paused, you may not be signed in, or the organization may not be eligible for the normal request form. That list includes published, non-password-protected organizations that accept requests and appear in the public community directory. A community page existing publicly does not by itself mean applications are open. Do not change an organization ID to bypass the list.
See membership statuses and sign-in and access troubleshooting. Approval currently does not enable private forums.
These instructions describe the Core 0.6.1 membership-request controls. Availability still depends on the current controlled-pilot settings.
